Email has become a preferred form of communication in both business and personal lives. It is important that students become proficient in this tool to meet national and state technology standards. This helps aid students for their post secondary endeavors by increasing technology skills, writing conventions, and overall literacy.
Each MHS student is provided a free monitored email account. This email IS NOT to be used for non educational purposes such as signing up for a myspace account. Students will attend a digital citizenship workshop as well as sign a technology contract.
OTHER TOOLS
Additional Gaggle features are also being provided by funding from our district Technology Center such as digital lockers, message baords, and homework drop boxes. These additional features will enhance students' educational experience.
Students are encouraged to use the digital lockers similar to their USB flash drive. Students can not only save files in their digital lockers but also organize them in folders. Similar to email regulations, the digital lockers should be used for educational purposes such as saving copies of reports, projects, and various files. These will be especially helpful as many of our students create educational portfolios.
TEACHER NOTE
MHS has access to all Gaggle features. If there is a feature in which you don't have access, it is probably blocked for the overall school. This was done to limit non teacher directed use of certain features. You can have access to any feature you would like to use in your classroom.
