4-H
Sponsor: J. Campbell and G Guin
Club Information: 4-H is a nationwide organization. Its members range from 4th graders to college students. 4-H is the largest organization in the United States with over 85,000 members in Louisiana alone. Being a 4-H member exposes you to community services hours starting in the 4th grade, opportunities to meet new people, learn new things, get leadership skills that you can take back to your community, and overall life lessons. Throughout the parish, every month, there is a month long community service project, where the schools compete against each other (just for sport). Also there is a year long community service project, newspaper recycling, where the Minden High club is in the lead. With the 4-H members in this club being in the higher grade level, many members are part of the parish club Junior Leaders, which is the club that sets up all the projects and events that go on in Webster Parish. Also, these are the ones who get first choice to go to Short Course in the summer.
