Club Information: STAR is an introduction to teaching class, not a school organization. However, it was included in this section of the web as another way to get involved if you are interested in a possible education degree. The class is taught to juniors and seniors who also receive three hours of college credit on completionof the course with a "B" or better average.Students in this class are required to do course work, a service-learning project, and 20 hours of field experiences at either elementary, junior high, or high school.
Annually, all STAR students gather at one of the universities for STAR Day. Students compete in service learning projects, speech, poster, portfolio, essay contest, and for STAR Student of the Year.Students interested in a teaching career or wanting to know more about the career of teaching will find this course to be a good choice.
